At the heart of our technologies are the Micropore Technologies microfiltration membranes, which are very uniform pores that pass straight through from one side of the membrane to the other. They are truly described as being microsieves. The membranes are made from metal and are very robust. They do not suffer from brittle fracture and can stand fluctuations in pressure, thermal shock, etc.
On the right are images of the metal membranes used: in general, circular pore membranes are used for emulsion generation and slotted microfilters for microfiltration applications. However, for some specialised emulsion generation applications slotted pore microfilters are used.
If you would like to see how our membranes differ from conventionally available microfiltration membranes please see this explanation.
